Don’t become a crime statistic! Attend “The Best Defense,” a free self-defense workshop brought to you by the Virginia Beach Police Department and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation.

Participants will increase awareness of the environment, learn about crime prevention, obtain personal safety tips, and learn how to escape from potentially dangerous situations.

Geared for those ages 12 & up, this self-defense workshop features simple skills that participants will practice under the supervision of Virginia Beach Police Department instructors.

Princess Anne Recreation Center, 1:00-4:00 p.m.

All participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing and no jewelry.

Those under age 16 must participate with a parent or guardian.

Please note that for this free workshop, a membership card is not required. Register as soon as possible as this is a very popular workshop. Registration will be accepted until November 1, 2011.
